5 Bells is named after the rope/line signal that a diver will send or receive to the surface. The most common meaning and derived for the name of the beer is "I have finished my work".
5 bells is a sessionable IPA with a lighter hop profile than the typical IPA found on the market now. It has a slight malty backbone which balances the hops. It is a great beginner IPA and is brewed with an English ale yeast that gives it a dry finish.
On the Bottom is a diver term. The diver will communicate with Topside aka the surface crew when they reach bottom by stating "On the Bottom".
The beer. It's a hazy east coast style IPA. Generously hopped with early and late addition hops and then dry hopped with an abundance of Cascade.
It has a bitter back end and delightful hop aroma and smooth mouth feel.
This dark chocolate oatmeal stout carries a nice brown head with plenty dark chocolate bitterness in the back of the mouth with a full bodied feel and many complex flavour tones. It's dark, opaque colour is reminiscent of the visibility when diving 200 feet to the bottom of Bedford Basin.
The US MK V Dive Helmet was used in the RCN until 1980. Made from Spun Copper and "Tobin Bronze", this helmet allowed was able to be used for both air and mixed gas deep diving.
Tobin Bronze ESB is a dark copper colour with with a rich malty character and light hop bitterness. It's deep flavours will leave you wanting more.
After a long bottom time it is necessary to decompress. Sitting at deco stops can be very warm and comfortable. Relaxing as you take your time to off gas.
Our Decompression Mild is throw back to English pubs when people wanted to relax after a hard day and enjoy a few pints. This Mild is malty sweet and glides over your tongue. Truly sessionable, it is as tasty on pint 4 as it is on pint number 1.
For a limited time. Unless people really like it!
